Draft talk on QBs: Johnny "Trademark" and Zach keeping purple

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La -

The Director of Operations for NFL Scouting Services, Dave-Te Thomas loves Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans, calling him the best receiver in the draft, but he also believes Evans has a lot to do with Johnny Manziel's success.  Thomas does not call Manziel "Johnny Football," but rather "Johnny Trademark."  Thomas does not believe Manziel has been honest with teams during interviews and likens him to Jim Carrey in the movie "Liar, Liar."  When asked about what teams around the league are saying about Manziel, Thomas says there are mixed feelings, about half the teams like him and the other half do not.  Thomas believes one team will "hit the panic button" and take Manziel in the first round.

The quarterback Thomas likes as much, if not better than any other in this draft is LSU's Zach Mettenberger.  Thomas says if Mettenberger did not get hurt then he would probably be a first round pick.  As it is Thomas believes Mettenberger is going to be "the Minnesota Vikings quarterback for the next ten years."  Thomas says the way Vikings GM Rick Spielman "has been doing his homework" on Mettenberger he will not get past Minnesota in round two.
