Easter Celebrations, local churches hold egg hunts.

Posted: Updated:
As many of you know, Easter is Sunday, and churches around the area helped celebrate their most holy weekend with egg hunts Saturday.

Shreveport's Broadmoor Presbyterian Church held its annual celebration of easter and egg hunt to the delight of dozens of kids. The church's youngest members, along with some from the community, searched around the church's lawns for eggs filled with goodies. Church leaders decided to hold commercial Easter celebrations today. It's in order to focus Sunday on the holiday's real meaning, the sacrifice and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.

"We want people to remember the reason for Easter and to take part in something the community is doing, of faith, can do to point things back to that significance," Jim Freeman, pastor, said.

Today's event also included fun things like crafts and refreshments.
