NFL ready to welcome Shreveport's L'Damian Washington

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La - Missouri wide receiver L'Damian Washington is just hoping to hear his name get called in the upcoming NFL draft.  The man who has written all the reports in the NFL's Draft Books used on the floor of the draft for decades says Washington is just the kind of player the NFL is looking for.  Director of Operations for NFL Scouting Services, Dave-Te Thomas says Washington "will" be playing for someone in the league.

Thomas says he looked at Washington's first three years at Missouri and saw a player willing to do anything the coach asked him to do.  Then this past season, when Mizzou had all sorts of problems with its star receiver, Dorial Green-Beckham, who was kicked off the team recently and Thomas makes the point that Washington came through with a huge season.  Thomas also points to how Washington averaged over 18 yards per reception and that was with no quarterback to throw him the ball until the Tigers finally settled on Maty Mauk.

When talking about Washington, Thomas says, "Yeah, this is a guy I want in this league.  When I look around I see a number of teams who are looking for a third wide receiver and he could fill that role right away."
