Battle on the Border line-up true to its title

SHREVEPORT, La - From SPAR: The City of Shreveport announces additions to the 2014 Landers Dodge Battle on the Border
High School Football Showcase, to be held September 12 – 13 at Shreveport Independence Stadium.
“The City of Shreveport and our title sponsor, Landers, are excited to have great matchups again this year for
our area football fans. Bringing in regional and national powerhouse football programs of this magnitude
validates that this high school sporting event is going to the next level,” said Patrick Wesley, City of
Shreveport.
All twelve participating teams made this year’s playoffs in their respective states. Three are crowning state
champions (Acadiana, El Dorado, and John Curtis) and two are state champion runner ups (C.E. Byrd and
Parkway).
“We're excited to be a part of this year's Battle on the Border and to have the opportunity to play a team like
Lufkin High School. The City of Shreveport has done a great job of turning this into a nationally recognized
event and we're looking forward to being a part of this great high school weekend of high school football,”
John Curtis coach J.T. Curtis said.
The twelve team, two day format will showcase some of the finest high school football programs in the
South.
Game matchups, dates and times include:
Friday, September 12th
St. Thomas More HS (Lafayette, LA) vs. Gladewater HS (Gladewater, TX) / 6:00pm
El Dorado HS (El Dorado, AR - 6A Champions) vs. C.E. Byrd HS (Shreveport, LA) / 8:30pm

Saturday, September 13th
Marshall HS (Marshall, TX) vs. Parkway HS (Bossier City, LA) / 11:00am
John Curtis HS (River Ridge, LA - Division II Champions) vs. Lufkin HS (Lufkin, TX) / 2:00pm
Shades Valley HS (Birmingham, AL) vs. Acadiana HS (Lafayette, LA - 5A Champions) / 5:00pm
Neville HS (Monroe, LA) vs. Longview HS (Longview, TX) / 8:00pm
