Tiger claws; Benton wins 11 straight

Posted: Updated:
Benton, La. - The Benton Tigers scored 16 runs in just 4 innings to take down North DeSoto 16-1 Thursday night and win their 11th straight game. The Griffins got off to a good start, with a solo home run in the first inning by Hunter Speights. But the Tiger offense was just too much for North DeSoto, bringing in 6 in the second.

The offense hasn't been there for Benton all season, but head coach J.D. Stephens says now is the perfect time for the bats to arrive. At 25-8 Benton looks to take one of the top 4 seeds in 4A, giving them a possible 3 home playoff games. Stephens says they learned the importance of grabbing a top seed last season, after losing in the semi finals on the road.

The Tigers will finish out the year Saturday against Ouachita Christian in their "Pink Out Game".
