We would like to introduce you to another special teacher from Sun City Elementary, who won her grant about a year ago.
Joan Pingel knows how important it is to turn her student's writing skills into artistic expressions.
"Different mediums have just really opened the kids eyes to what is really out there. It is not just take a crayon and color, but what an artist can actually do," said Pingel. Thanks to her One Class At a Time grant, Pingel was able to display the art work of about 600 students at the school, by supplying them with art paper and paint.
"We were able to purchase really nice paper that is heavy that doesn't curl up after we use it when we paint. We got really nice paint brushes with tips so the kids were able to explore," said Pingel.
Joan Pingel is making a difference in the lives of her students, One Class At a Time. "Thanks to my One Class At a Time grant, we have been able to open our student's eyes and give them the opportunity to see the world in a different light," said Pingel.
