Two homes destroyed and one damaged in morning blaze

Posted: Updated:
A fire destroyed two homes and damaged a third in Shreveport early Sunday morning.
It happened shortly before 4:00 a.m. on Lawrence street.
All three homes were abandoned and the utilities are cut off.
Authorities say its possible there were homeless people using the buildings for shelter.
Fire officials say the blaze jumped between the first two homes and wind carried embers to a third house.
They say it spread so quickly because of the building's close proximity.
Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control in about twenty minutes.
More than a dozen units responded to the call.
