Thief targets Shreveport hotel

SHREVEPORT, La -

Shreveport Police investigators need assistance in identifying a man who on 4/24 at approximately 2:50 p.m. entered the Howard Johnsons on Financial Plaza.

The tall suspect, wearing a black hoodie and lime green safety vest, and armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, entered the hotel. Once inside, he walked behind the counter and demanded the key to the hotel safe.

Suspect retrieved an undetermined amount of cash and fled the scene.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $500.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

    A sailboat accident claimed the life of an unidentified man in his early 20's Friday evening.According to the St. Tammany Sheriff's Office, a small sailboat flipped over in Lake Pontchartrain near the mouth of Tchefuncte River around 5 p.m.Another person who was thrown from the boat was rescued, said the sheriff's office.Around 8:30 p.m., St. Tammany Sheriff's Office confirmed a body had been found.
