Former deputy sought by police on child molestation charges, captured

LOUISIANA (KTBS) - UPDATE: Louisiana State Police tell KTBS 3 News that Jeffery Scott Humphries was captured in Dixie Inn around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Stay with KTBS 3 News for updates as information becomes available. 


Louisiana State Police are searching for a former DeSoto Parish Deputy who is wanted on 3 counts of molestation of juveniles.

Trooper Brett Davis tells KTBS 3 News that his department has a warrant out for Jeffery Scott Humphries. We're told that Humphries, 34 of Stonewall, is considered armed and dangerous since he has prior military and law enforcement experience. He also is a trained martial arts fighter. 

Humphries is described as a white male weighing about 160 pounds and is 5’11” tall.  He also may be using the alias Jason Scott Bowen. 


Anyone with information is asked to call Louisiana State Police Troop G at 318-741-7461.

    A person from Caddo Parish has died from West Nile Virus. The Louisiana Department of Health and Human Services confirmed the death to KTBS 3 News on Thursday afternoon. According to DHH, the victim was between 60 and 74 years of age.
