Public gives input on future Caddo Common Park

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTBS) -

The public had a chance to contribute ideas for the design of Caddo Common Park in downtown Shreveport Tuesday.

The green space will be part of Shreveport Common, a planned cultural district.

Folks were encouraged to tell the Shreveport Regional Arts Council what they wanted the park to have over lunch. People suggested the 1.3 have workout equipment, swings or even a pool once it’s complete.

"I think people want some where they can live their life during their downtown work, on the weekends or after 5pm," said Pam Atchison with the Shreveport Regional Arts Council.

The Caddo Common Park will replace 9-city blocks where Texas Avenue and Cotton Street meet.
