Attorney General Caldwell visits Shreveport for leadership luncheon

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La. -
Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell was in Shreveport Thursday.
Caldwell was the guest speaker at the 6th Annual Leadership Awards luncheon and workshop. It's a meeting held by faith based and grass roots community organizations, along with districts attorneys of Northwest Louisiana. The topics were human trafficking and child internet predators. Caldwell spoke about high crime rates in the state and gave his opinion on medical marijuana use and its link to crime.
"Medical marijuana is a gateway drug, and since there is no determined amount of a dosage for it, it's impossible for you to ask doctors or anyone to prescribe something that you don't even have a dosage for," Caldwell said.
Today's meeting also focused on grant writing and funding for those community organizations in need.
