Shreveport Police shut down parts of Clyde Fant, after woman fires off gun

Shreveport police diverted traffic Sunday afternoon, after a woman fired off gunshots in Hamel park, and then, threaten to kill herself. It happened shortly after 7 pm, when officers arrived she threaten to harm herself with the loaded gun. Police shut down Clyde Fant near the Jimmie Davis Bridge and begun to divert traffic; while SPD negotiators tried to convinced the woman to lower her weapon. The two hour incident ended with the woman surrendering to officers. No one was injured. Why the woman wanted to harm herself, is not known at the time.
