SHREVEPORT, La. (KTBS) - National Small Business Week is May 12-15, and 12 different businesses test their concepts during the first Downtown Pop UP Project.

It
officially kicked off Monday in the Red River District. Dozens of people checked out the restaurants and shops on their lunch breaks.

Two more Pop UPs are planned for this year, and now there is more incentive for businesses to participate.

One will win a year of free rent downtown, thanks to the Committee of One Hundred.

The group will choose the pop up that has the most potential. Click here for details.

It holds a seminar Thursday that can help determine the feasibility of your business idea and help set you up financially.

The talk will be held at their main office in LSU-S's Business/Education building, room 103 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
