Bossier businessman and former presidential candidate arrested for burglary

Posted: Updated:
CORRECTION: Shreveport Police tell KTBS 3 News that Tubbs is not accused of taking any personal items and credit cards, only loading the washer and dryer without consent of the business owner.  We regret the error.

A Bossier businessman, who once told anyone who'd listen he was running for president, has had yet another run-in with the law. Anthony Scott Tubbs was arrested Sunday by SPD on a burglary charge.

He's accused of burglary. Police say Tubbs was loading a washer and dryer at a business in the 9200 block of Slack Road without consent of the business owner. Earlier reports that he also took some personal items were incorrect.

In addition to an ill-planned run for president as an independent, Tubbs also ran for Shreveport mayor in 2002. His candidacy was challenged by a state lawmaker and was kicked off the ballot because of a prior conviction for arson with intent to defraud.
