Shreveport car dealership heads to the auction block

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La. -
For those of you in the market for a new car, U.S. Marshals have a deal for you.
This weekend, the U.S. government will auction off the inventory and assets of Mike's Auto Sales, which is located on Hearne Avenue and Midway. There's about 42 cars up for grabs through Lawler Auction Company. Authorities say the owner of Mike's Auto Sales has plead guilty of money laudering, wire fraud and tax evasion charges. His dealership was raided back in 2012. Now, his business will face the auction block.
"We've got a lot of nice cars. Nicer cars, you know, people are just getting rid of," Danny Lawler, the auction company's owner, said. "You've got lots of equipment inside of the building, like vehicle lifts, air compressor. Everything you'd expect at a used car dealership."
The auction is at Mike's Auto at 10 a.m. Friday. Shoppers can get there early at eight and view the inventory until ten.
