Thank you Lt. Bill Davis with the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office for sending us these pictures of this morning's Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Davis covered the group of runners from the Bossier Civic Center who traveled about three miles down Texas Street and met runners from CCC who ran down Market Street. When the two groups got to downtown Shreveport, they then ran together to the Caddo Parish Courthouse.
A ceremony was held on the steps of the Caddo Parish Courthouse, including a joint proclamation by Mayors Lo Walker and Cedric Glover. Some of the runners then continued on from there for another 12 miles to the Relay Station on Highway 1. Law enforcement officers will continue to run all this week to the State Summer Games for the LA Special Olympics in Hammond, LA, May 23-25. Seventy-one Special Olympic athletes from this area will compete in the State Games.
