Funeral arrangements set for man found in Red River

Funeral arrangements have been set for Desmond Desdunes, the man who died after jumping from an old railroad bridge over the Red River last week. His remains were recovered over the weekend.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Heavenly Gates Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke CME church at 2110 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.  Desdunes will be buried at Round Grove Cemetery.

Desdunes and a friend jumped into the river from the bridge on Thursday night.  Witnesses say Desdunes panicked in the water and never made it back to shore.  The other young man with Desdunes, Josh Miller, has been arrested and issued a summons for trespassing,
