3 arrested in string of vacant home thefts in Natchitoches Parish

NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. -

Natchitoches Parish Sheriffs have arrested three people in connection with a series of thefts targeting vacant residences in the Robeline area,

On Friday May 9th at 12:22 p.m., deputies responded to a reported residential burglary and theft in the 400 block of Freeman Loop near Robeline, La.

When they arrived, they spoke with the caretaker of the property and discovered the residence was vacant.

During the investigation, they discovered someone entered the residence by forcing their way inside the home and the outdoor shed.

Items reported stolen were: one antique clock, one red metal box containing a soldering kit, one metal windmill replica, and a Craftsman 42-inch riding lawn mower valued at approximately $1200.

Two weeks later, on Sunday May 25th around 11:54 p.m., deputies responded to a second reported theft in the 400 block of Freeman Loop near Robeline..

They arrived on scene and learned that a Frigidaire air conditioner window unit valued at $600 was stolen.

A third theft was reported Sunday June 8th around 10:28 pm. Deputies were called to the 9700 block of Hwy 120 near Robeline, La.

Deputies say while talking with the complainant, they learned that a Goodman 4-ton central air unit had been removed from a exterior slab, a outboard motor, and Samsung cellular telephone, together valued at approximately $4500, were stolen.

Detectives' investigation led them to three suspects identified as Buckey Adams, Laci Rae Hayes, and Teri Gwen McPherson.

Following the investigation detectives were able to issue warrants and arrest the three suspects.

Buckey Adams, 46 , Teri Gwen McPherson, 36 and Laci Rae Hayes, 29 were all booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center and charged with felony theft.

Adams has nineteen prior arrests in Texas and Louisiana.

Most of the stolen merchandise has been recovered in Sabine Parish.
