Power restored to SWEPCO customers

Posted: Updated:

Power has been restored to thousands of SWEPCO customers left in the dark by a power outage that sparked concern among many.

A lot of you called the KTBS 3 newsroom about a bright light in the sky over north Shreveport Thursday night.

Shreveport police tell us  that bright light was caused by a transformer that blew  at the corner of Hilry Huckaby and David Raines Road.
At the height of the problem, more than 5,500 customers were without power.
