Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover responds to indictment of Craig Mulford

Tonight, Shreveport city leaders held a news conference to respond to questions about the indictment of Fire Chief Craig Mulford. 


Mayor Cedric Glover announced that he has put  Mulford on administrative leave, with pay, following the department head's indictment and arrest for allegedly covering up possible misconduct at Fire Station 8.


Glover said Deputy Chief Tom Self would be acting fire chief. Self is on vacation, but will return to duty next week. Glover also said Self was scheduled to retire in August.

    A unanimous vote today by the Bossier City Council will bring some changes to Walker Place park which is located by the Century Link Center. The vote means an extra 1.8 million dollars is approved for it, which translates to a very nice state of the art park.Cooperatively building the park with U.L. Coleman companies was one of the provisions of a lawsuit settlement between the development firm and the city. The park will cost a total of 2.8 million dollars
