 Mansfield’s Juneteenth Celebration Schedule of Events

THURSDAY, JUNE 26 (AT MANSFIELD CITY HALL AND PARK)

5:00 PM – 8:00 PM   Kids’ Day Fun In The Sun - Bring your own towel and lawn chair

                                       Free Activities include Face Painting by MHS Cheerleaders,

                                       Water Slide, Bouncy House and Balloon Animals

                                       *Money needed for Mansfield Alive Concessions only (sno cones  

                                         & drinks)

                                       Musical Entertainment - D. J. Bullethead

7:00 PM                       Presentation for the Reason for the Celebration -

                                       By LaTarsha Shelton and Latoya Washington

7:30 PM – 8:00 PM   D. J. Bullethead to close evening’s events

                                        *Event hosted by Mansfield High School Football Team

FRIDAY, JUNE 27 (AT DESOTO PARISH COURTHOUSE SQUARE)

5:00 PM                        Vendor Booths Setup (Bring All Your Own Equipment)

8:00 PM – 11:00 PM  Street Dance & Musical Entertainment

9:30 AM – 10:30 AM  Parade Entry Line-up at Mansfield City Hall

11:00 AM                       Parade Begins (Will Run Christmas Parade Route)

1:00 PM                          Car & Bike Show (Park Area Across from old Nabors Trailers)

2:00 PM                          Car & Bike Show Judging

3:00 PM                          Presentation of Reason for the Celebration –

    A unanimous vote today by the Bossier City Council will bring some changes to Walker Place park which is located by the Century Link Center. The vote means an extra 1.8 million dollars is approved for it, which translates to a very nice state of the art park.Cooperatively building the park with U.L. Coleman companies was one of the provisions of a lawsuit settlement between the development firm and the city. The park will cost a total of 2.8 million dollars
