Blood drive for Nathan Johnson is still taking place

Posted: Updated:
Family of Nathan Johnson, 24, say he's in critical but stable condition at University Health, as of Friday.

LifeShare is holding a blood drive to honor and help him. Johnson was electrocuted Monday at a construction site in Shreveport. Several pints of blood were used during his treatment. Family are happy to have the support. Johnson's accident serves as a perfect example for why donations are needed.

"The family is just thrilled with the response that we've got since we put out the plea," Darla Johnson, Nathan's aunt, said. "Because people donated before now, there were products available for nathan to use when he needed them. People don't think about it that way, that 'my donation will help someone at a later date.'"

Johnson says her nephew will be brought out of his induced coma Friday, and that the family asks the public to pray for him and doctors. LifeShare also notes that their normal supplies are low and need extra help before the holiday weekend next week. Follow this link for donation locations.
