Posted: Updated:
Our KTBS 3 News investigation into health care at the Veterans Health Administration takes us to the state capitol.

Louisiana state representatives wanted to learn more about the the state of health care at hospitals across the the state.

The House Special Committee on Military and Veteran Affairs met this morning and heard testimony from veterans around the state.

Only about a dozen veterans showed up and not everyone spoke.

They gave suggestions on how the  VA could improve, as well as sharing their poor experiences with the hospital system.

One veteran from Bossier Parish wished to remain anonymous, so a letter about an experience with Overton Brooks in shreveport was read on their behalf.

At the end of all of the public testimony, Representative Jeff Thompson made a motion to subpoena representatives from the VA hospitals in Louisiana and require their presence at a joint committee meeting at a later date.
