Shreveport's Moonbot Studios wins 2 Daytime Emmys

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La - Shreveport's Moonbot Studios has done it again.

The studio behind the Oscar-winning 2011 animated short "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore" has won a pair of Daytime Emmys for its work on the animated short film and accompanying app "The Scarecrow."

"Scarecrow" co-directors Brandon Oldenburg and Limbert Fabian accepted the awards for Outstanding Directing in an Animated Program and Outstanding New Approaches -- Original Daytime Program, the latter of which recognizes excellence in interactive media productions.

The win underscores Moonbot's embracing of innovation and outside-the-box thinking. The studio says the work is only the second YouTube-released video to win an Emmy, and the only one this year.
