NEW ORLEANS, La. (WWL-TV) -

An angry-sounding man shot at another man and then emptied his gun into the crowd on Bourbon Street early Sunday morning, according to an eyewitness.

Nine people were reportedly injured in the shooting, seven of them were said to be stable while one woman was listed in critical condition.

Police said the condition of the other victim is not known. There has been no word on a description of the suspect.

Police were called to the scene in the 700 block of Bourbon Street around 2:45 a.m.

One eyewitness told WWL-TV that the shooter appeared to intentionally shoot one victim then began opening fire onto the crowd.

“Just turned around and he started shooting at the crowd. He seemed pissed off at some dude, pulled the gun out and started shooting at the guy then turned around on the crowd and started shooting at us.”

Police are continuing to gather information on the incident. As always, anyone with information can call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
