MARSHALL, Tx. -

Science Discovery Camp is teaching valuable lessons to east Texas students, thanks to Panola College Marshall.  Last week, students engaged in a variety of fun hands on group activities focusing on renewable energy sources, and developing good social skills. The importance of teamwork was emphasized as students worked together to make solar houses and assemble solar cars. Students made windmills and water wheels in order to learn how wind energy and water energy could be converted into electrical energy. Students also collected, organized, and recorded data as they used different metals and juices to make batteries. Successful completion of these fun projects left the students with a sense of pride in having done a great job.

Instructor, Sarah Bush enjoyed seeing the excitement of the children as they built, created, then watched in amazement as they realized learning could be fun! Panola College would like to say Thank You to the following sponsors; BJ Blow, Willie & Paula Blow, and Ruth and Gwendolyn Criner who all generously donated scholarships so the children could attend the camp.
