Hope, Ark. -

Southwest Arkansas authorities are investigating a murder after a man was found dead in his home.

It happened just before 9 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of South Ferguson in Hope.

Police say the call came into 911 as an injured person.

However, when officers arrived, they discovered Gary Tuberville, 57, on the floor dead from apparent blunt force trauma to his body.

Criminal investigators were called to process the scene.

Tuberville's body has been sent to the state crime lab in Little Rock.

Anyone with information regarding this crime should contact Detective Andrew Watson of the Hope Police Department Criminal Investigative Division at 870-722-2563.

Chief JR Wilson stated, "Violent acts such as this are senseless and to the greatest extent violate the most basic rights of human life, dignity and standing imposed on all human kind by the creator himself. It is of the utmost importance that any person with any information connected to this crime contact our CID personnel for further investigation. Our commitment is to pursue this case and cases like it to the fullest extent. Our hearts go out to the family of Mr. Tuberville. Our investigation continues. The dissemination of any additional information would not be appropriate at this time."
