Man arrested in connection with recent thefts in Natchitoches Parish

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested a Campti man in connection with recent thefts in north Natchitoches Parish, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday, June 25, deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Division responded to two reported thefts in the 200 block of Pasture Road and in the 2200 block of U.S. 71 near Campti, La.

Deputies say items reported stolen in both thefts were a Yahama 50 motorcyle, and two Poulan chainsaws valued at at approximately $2.000.

Then, on Thursday, June 26, deputies assigned to the Patrol Division responded to a theft reported in the 6700 block of La. Hwy 9 near Campti.

Deputies say while talking with the complainant, they learned that a Honda 2000 generator, and a Dewitt power drill valued at approximately $1,180 were stolen from a shed.

Deputies processed the crime scene in each case then forwarded the offense reports to the NPSO Criminal Investigations Division for investigative purposes.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified a Michael Colton White, of Campti, as potential suspect in the thefts.

On July 1st, White reported to the Criminal Investigations Division.

Detectives say while interviewing White he confessed to his involvement in each of the thefts.

Detectives obtained sufficient evidence and probable cause to arrest:

Michael Colton White, 21, of the 2200 block U.S. 71/84, was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with 3-counts of felony theft.

White remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center awaiting bond.

Detectives say some of the stolen items have been recovered.

Detectives have also recovered a Husqvarna back pack blower, Makita skilsaw in a case, Cub Cadet weedeater, and Power Pro Staple guns that are also believed to be stolen in recent thefts that are unclaimed.

Detectives ask that if you have any of the above items stolen, and have the proper identification to claim the items to contact Detectives Darrel Winder or Tim Key at 318-357-7830.
