Durr's Pyromaniacs is a locally owned and operated retailer of fireworks.  They provide year-round displays for weddings, company events and maintain a full-service fireworks operation in the ArkLaTex. Curtis & Angela Elkins have been partners with Kris Durr for more than 5 years.  Their crew was excited to share their knowledge of their craft.

Here are their recommendations: The boys in the know of the fireworks toys recommend "Excalibur" for the massive explosions while lighting up the sky.  Angela Elkins co-owner recommends "Hit the Road, Jack", "One Bad Mother", " Blonde Joke", and "WHO DAT".  She says they are easy to light and just pretty.  Of course the ever popular is the classic "Black Cat", and for the kids "Sparklers" and "Snappers".

All of the owners are in the heath care field at University Health and the VA Hospital. They say the average fireworks purchase is averaging about $50 for a typical fireworks at home party.  Prices range from 20 cents to $85.

They have two locations, one along Airline Drive and the other on I-49 at the Frierson/Stonewall exit. Fireworks prices ranging from 20 cents to 85 dollars.
