Morris Claiborne brings camp to Shreveport

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La -  For the third straight year Cowboys cornerback and Shreveport native Morris Claiborne held a football camp for young athletes at Independence Stadium.  While the camp continues to grow Claiborne says the message stays the same, "We're trying to build on it each and every year.  Build on it each and every year.  It's a good thing we just love coming back, seeing the kids' how their faces light up when it's time to throw the footballs around.  It's great."

The LSU presence was strong once again at the camp and Claiborne was joined by fellow Shreveport natives Brandon Harris and Tre'Davious White who are preparing for the upcoming season at LSU.  "It's a big deal for me to come back to my hometown and just show kids with the same dreams that I have, show them the little lessons that I've learned while I've been in Baton Rouge," says White.  Claiborne says he realizes the importance of having the local guys at the camp, "That was a point of emphasis for me for this camp to get those guys back especially.  We've got some guys that are doing some big things at LSU from Shreveport.  And all of them played on this field."

Former LSU Tigers Lamin Barrow, Benny Logan, Rueben Randle and current Tiger Travin Dural also attended the camp.
