Customers of East Cove in Caddo Parish could be without water until Monday

Posted: Updated:
MOORINGSPORT, La. (KTBS) -

Some residents in north Caddo Parish who were without water Saturday, could continue to be without until Monday.

The outage affects customers of the East Cove Receivership Water System, which is run by the town of Mooringsport.

Leanne Divine, Town Clerk with the Town of Mooringsport, says a pump at the water plant that distributes water to residents isn't functioning.

Divine says a 500 gallon water tank is parked behind the town hall in Mooringsport, located at 122 West Croom Street, for customers to get water.

She says this will be provided until water service can be restored, however customers will have to bring their own containers.

Town officials say they're working to get the issue resolved as soon as possible.
