Pedestrian struck, killed by truck in north Shreveport

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTBS) -

Shreveport authorities are investigating a late night crash that left a woman dead.

It happened just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday, on North Hearne Avenue, just south of its intersection with Aero Drive.

When Shreveport Police officers arrived on scene, they found an adult female who had apparently been struck by a vehicle on North Hearne.

The woman, whose name is not being released pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Based on evidence gathered, crash investigators believe the woman was walking southbound on North Hearne when she was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet, driven by 34-year-old Brian Wilson of Shreveport.

Wilson’s vehicle was traveling southbound at the time of the crash.

Police say Wilson voluntarily submitted to routine tests for impairment, and at this point investigators do not believe he was impaired in any way.

Their investigation is ongoing at this hour.
