SHREVEPORT, La -

Shreveport Police are searching for a man accused of kidnapping a local woman Monday afternoon in west Shreveport.

Just before 3:00 p.m. on July 14, 2014, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to the 1400 block of Doris Street relative to a reported kidnapping. When they arrived, they were told a woman who lived at the home, was kidnapped at gunpoint by her ex-boyfriend. Witnesses told police the man allegedly forced the woman into a silver sedan and then drove off.

During the investigation, the alleged suspect reportedly returned to the victim's home where he is said to have dropped her off nearly three hours after the ordeal began. The victim was shaken, and suffered minor injury after allegedly being battered by the suspect. The suspect, reportedly armed with a rifle, fled the scene driving what has been described as a silver or gray colored, four door vehicle believed to be a newer model a Chevrolet Malibu. Investigators are in the process of procuring an arrest warrant for the man, whose name will be released at that time. Police are urging anyone with information about this crime to contact Caddo-Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or on their website at www.lockemup.com
