Watchful neighbor helps Shreveport police nab suspected car burglars

Posted: Updated:
A watchful neighbor alerts police to a crime in progress. Now, a pair of local teens face charges for allegedly breaking into multiple vehicles early this morning in southeast Shreveport.

Police say around 3:20 a.m., a concerned citizen made a call to say that several male suspects were rifling through vehicles at an apartment complex parking lot in the 6000 block of Roma Drive. Patrol officers immediately converged on the area and the four suspects ran away. Anyone with information that can help police find them, is asked to contact Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or click here.

Patrolmen caught up with two of them, identified as 18 year old Jeremy Bell and 17 year old Laroyce Daniel-Brown, but not before one officer suffered minor injuries.

Detectives  says based on information and evidence gathered so far, they believe Bell, Daniel-Brown and two others broke into at least four vehicles there on Roma Drive before police arrived.

Bell and Daniel-Brown, both of the 7000 block of Burlingame Boulevard in Shreveport, were booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count each of simple burglary and resisting a police officer with force or violence. Police say they may face additional charges as the investigation moves forward.

Bell and  Daniel-Brown were just arrested together in March of 2014 and charged in connection with vehicle burglaries at another apartment complex in Shreveport.
