Thompson pleads not guilty to '79 Shreveport murder

CADDO PARISH, La. - A accused hitman has pleaded not guilty to a decades old murder. Larry Thompson is accused of killing Deanna Montgomery, for her husband James Montgomery, back on New Year's Day in 1979 as they drove on Live Avenue in Shreveport.

Thompson was brought back from Angola to face arraignment today, his birthday.

In addition to the Montgomery killing, investigators have long suspected that he was a hired hitman, responsible for many unsolved homicides.
