Poll shows Hillary Clinton frontrunner in Florida

Posted: Updated:

Florida voters would prefer Hillary Clinton take over the White House in 2016, according to a new Quinnipiac University survey.

In hypothetical match-ups, the former Secretary of State tops republicans by a margin of 7 to 21 percentage points.

That GOP list includes: former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Senator Marco Rubio and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

Among those surveyed, 67-percent of Florida democratic primary voters say they'd back Clinton for their party's nomination.

Registered republicans would pick Bush for the GOP nomination.

Overall, Florida voters gave Mrs. Clinton a 58-percent favorable rating.

The same survey gave President Barack Obama a 44-percent approval rating.
