Shreveport woman accused of bank fraud

Posted: Updated:
A Shreveport woman is accused of stealing more than $186,000 in a bank fraud scheme.

Kelley Rotharmel, 29, turned herself last night after detectives after learning that a warrant was issued  for her arrest.

Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Frank Edmondson said Rotharmel wrote four checks to a local credit union and then stopped payment on the checks causing the credit union to lose $186,449.  Edmondson said Rotharmel floated money by moving it between three accounts and two banking institutions.

Rotharmel turned herself in to authorities Thursday night on a charge of bank fraud. Her bond was set at $175,000.
