Posted: Updated:

A local man faces jail time following his alleged involvement in the burglary of an east Shreveport car dealership on Saturday night.

Just before 12:00 a.m., an off-duty Shreveport Police officer was in the 500 block of East 70th Street, when he saw a man  lurking around cars in the rear of the business. Upon closer inspection, the officer witnessed the man siphoning gas from a vehicle parked on the lot. The man, identified as 50 year old Michael Harrison was detained by the officer and an investigation was launched.

Harrison was transported to Shreveport Police headquarters where he was interviewed by Shreveport Police Property Crimes investigators. The investigation revealed Harrison had entered the fenced property through a hole made in the fence. Harrison was arrested and charged with a single count of simple burglary. He was transported and booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
