MARSHALL, Tx - The Marshall Mavericks are hoping to build off their playoff appearance last season and they'll rely heavily on their experienced offensive line, especially standout Chett Munden.

"I don't care how good of a coach you are, you can't coach 6'7, 310 pounds and he anchors our offensive line," said Marshall head coach Clint Harper.

"He is pretty large. His technique is so much better now. He's big and he's knows what he's doing so I feel like he can protect the quarterback so he can get us the ball and we can do plays," added receiver John Love.

"His intelligence, first off, he's 36 in his class, super super intelligent kid, which when you combine that with the size and move his feet, size, intelligence, he's the total package," explained Harper.

"I've always wanted to play college football because I've always been big so I've always wanted to do that," said Munden.

Munden has also caught the eyes of Division I schools. With offers from North Texas and ULM, Munden decided to stay close to home with the Mean Green.

"The things that really sold UNT, they're going to be thin next year and young next year so he thinks he has an opportunity to play next year. They're a senior laden group so he has the opportunity. He already knows the offense and he really thinks he'll have the chance to contribute next year," described Harper.

"They run the exact same offense, pretty much and it's really close to home so I decided to go there and be ready for my senior year, don't have to worry about that while I play," added Munden.

With his college decision aside, Munden is looking forward to restoring the Maverick football tradition.
