Texas students head back to school for first day

Posted: Updated:

Students across the state of Texas headed back to school Monday.

Students enrolled in the Waskom Independent School district kicked off the first day bright and early.

New teachers that headed back to school in the district had extensive training to get the started off on the right foot.

18 new teachers began their first day just as excited as the students.

Superintendent, Jimmy Cox, began early, arriving at the schools to check in with principals and teachers before welcoming the students and their families as they headed off to school at the start of the 2014-2015 academic year. “Really you know everything is going well. I've been to all three of the campuses trying to get people headed in the right direction. Things are working out really well compared to years past,” said Cox.
