A Promise of Hope: Billie Weatherall

Nothing special about this place, at first-the typical weights, and sweaty people, strained faces, then you notice the walls the tattoos, the t-shirts. Then you listen. If he sounds a little like a preacher, its because Billie Weatherall learned the word of God the hard way, found it in a bible in his ruck sack the night he almost killed himself.  Turns out Billie has needed God many times, especially the two weeks he spent on a cold mountain top in Afghanistan. They were the first troops in the early hard days of the war, and it was hell. Billie survived the war and so did most of his platoon, but after the demons set in.  Billie too came within moments of ending his life, until he saw that bible. Billie is at a gym, where before they work out they read the word.
