we're talking about black friday. though some stores do open tomorrow evening. and some here in the arklatex started camping out as early as 8 a-m this morning. we found these folks at the best buy in bossier. but is worth it? that is the question reporter eric james asked retailers. that's news at six.... and he joins us now with what he discovered. eric -- were folks really out there at 8 this morning. ? gerry... i was a bit shocked when they said they got there at 8 a-m today. and while retailers are expecting a pretty decent shopping season.. some say you can get the same deals sitting at home in your pj's... as yo will get waiting outside at the front door. jc-penney or jcp is one of the oldest national retailers in the area... but the company has undergone major changes when it comes to pricing "for this one time only for black friday so from 6am to 11pm - all day friday and they will be the best deals of the year" deals store manger lon hawkins says are also bng offered online ...not just at the store. "some customers will take the chance the having a traditional thanksgiving and shop with us online... or they they can come in at 6am friday ..but they can just really click with a mouse and get what they need on thursday" and when it comes to shopping online .... keep a constt check on the item..the price can change throughout the day. the price of this camera dropped 50 dollars in just 12 hours. . and if you are headed to a store near you... don't forget your smartphone., apps like decide ... can help you find the best deals. it scans the bar code searching through thousands of pieces of information and will tel you if you should buy now or wait. when it came this camera it said wait... because it will probably go onsale at a lower price. but for this tv... it told us to buy now.. using another app called red laser we scan the bar code and it found a coupon from a competing store for this bouncing tigger....target honored the coupon and we got it at a cheaper price. "we will do shifts my husband is in there looking around " for some like anette beck... she is skiping thanksgiving... and waiting in line to find the best deals. "we will have tickets for the big door buster items" charles jury is the manager at the best buy in bossier "as they come in through the door we want them to shop for more items but will be gurateed those items" so to answer that question...is it worth it? it all depends on what you are looking for and how long you are willing to wait. for stores like best buy they have limited numbers of certain things... so it is first come first serve. thank so much eric. when it comes to inventory -- mangers we spoke with say... if they're out of the items you're looking for -- don't worry. a shipment is most likely on the way... but you may not get it at the same sale price. we're just getting started this news hour.. coming up -- water
