detives have re- opened a 23- year- old cold case. it involves the death of a store clerk ... ..who was shot in the head in an apparent robbery. juanita jones was working at that circle-k in haughton back in in 1989. detectives are dusting off the case files. the story is new at 6 with ktbs 3's rod white. She's a beautiful child, very beautiful, very sweet, very intelligent. juanita jones was shot in the head twenty-three years ago while working as a store clerk at the circle-k on bodcau road and highway 80 in haughton. the news devestated her mother. I went crazy for a while, I just went you know I couldn't believe it. Detectives say it was around 10:30 on that Monday night that someone entered the store and shot Juanita in the head during what appeared to be a robbery, they say the cash register drawer was opened and money was missing. she died five days later at bossier medical center. the policeere working with very few clues. There were several viable suspects, four or five to be exact and our resources in 1989 of course are completely different. lieutenant shannon mack with the bossier parish sheriff's office says today's technology may help solve this case.
