thousand doyline residents to get ready to evacuate. work will begin this weekend at camp minden to move the dangerous explosives that are improperly stored behind explo systems. ktbs 3's rod white joins us now... ..with the latest on the evacuation plans. so rod .. how long should residents be prepared to be away from home? jody at least for the weekend. authorities are asking the residents of doyline to be out of their homes and out of harms way by 6 o'clock saturday morning. state and local officials look over maps and make a plan of action for this weekends evacuation. We're going to encourage the people in Doyline to leave their residents because of the safety factor. webster parish sheriff gary sexton is looking for safe passage for his residents and a safe move of over 1 million pounds of improperly stored smokeless black powder near the town. several roads will be closed for safety reasons. The other side of Doyline on Highway 164, which will be in Bossier Parish at boomtown the Louisiana State Police and the Bossier Parish Sheriff's office will be conducting that checkpoint. captain doug cain with the state police says this will be a coordianated effort. move that million pounds of product out of magazines so we can move the improperly stored product into those magazines. sheriff sexton has closed doyline high school on monday for precationary reason. we don't know if it's gonna last till monday but it gives the parents time to prepare to have their children placed somewhere in case the disposal of this product runs over into Monday. there will be no evacutions of the youth challenge program or the webster parish jail both housed on camp minden authorites are also calling for a no fly zone over camp minden while the moving of the products is taking place. thanks rod for that report authorities have already begun to ship the properly stored product out of the magazines to a customer in arkansas. of course you'll want to stay with ktbs 3 news and ktbs.com for more on this developing story --- the explosives removal at camp minden. new at six tonight.. a caddo school bus
