hands-on traing... with aa firefighters. the shreveport fire department is teaming up with the boy scouts of america... to offer a career development and mentoring program to area teens. it's caled the "fire and emergency explorer" program. explorers will get hands-on experience... while exploring possible career options for later in life. "We're going to bring them into our stations. We're going to give them first hand knowledge about what firefighters do, what EMS workers do. And hopefully from that it's going to open up the door to an extension of our recruiting efforts." recruiters have already begun visiting various schools in caddo parish... to gain student interest. parents and students, both girls and boys age 14-to-20 years old... are invited to attend the "explorer first nighter"... tomorrow night at the fire traing academy at 6440 greenwood road. the meeting starts at 6:00 p-m. for years--he's brought laughter to children everywhere. now the man
