yesterday for shoppers but it was a black friday for many of our high school football teams in the playoffs. of the 6 louisiana teams in action last night... only 1 team advanaced to the state semifinal round. in the class 5-a quarterfinals... district foes parkway and airline took on 2 of the state's toughest powerhouses. the panthers hosted number 2 barbe and parkway had chances to put away the buccaneers. the panthers tied up the number 2 barbe and parkway had chances to put away the buccaneers. the panthers tied up the game at 35 in the third but turnovers hurt parkway who fel 45 to 35. airline's historic playoff run also came to a close saturday night. the vikings traveled to number 3 west monroe and fell to the rebels 34 to 14. vikes senior quarterback hayden hildebrand had to be carted off the field twice because he's been suffering a torn menicus in his right knee. in class 3-a... north desoto made their fir ever state quarterfinal appearance and the griffins had their hands full with number 1 parkview baptist paying them a visit. the eagles came out to a fast 28-0 start and never looked back... ending the griffs season with a finals score of 62-21. in class 2a.. it was a rematch of last aruarters contest between calvary baptist and university lab. but this season the cavs made too many mistakes and allowed just one too many big plays to end their state championshipopes... 19 7. also in 2a... many falls short in springfield... 34 to 28 but the sole team advancing to the state semi's is haynesville. the golden tornadoes rallied back after trailing in the second half to beat westmintser christian on the road... 34 to 17. quarterback jerrell jackhad an 83 yard kickoff returned for a touchdown to take the lead as haynesville wins this one with big plays. congratulations
