v-100 independence bowl is w just days away... but players from both teams took time off from the gridiron to spread some christmas cheer today. ktbs 3's erin buchanan has the story -- new tonight. it won't be long now before the warhawks and bobcats battle it out at independence stadium. but inside these doors, for just a little while, football was put on the back burner and a gloomy christmas got quite a bit brighter for some very special kids. no matter which team claims victory come december 28th... the winners today were the kids on the pediatric floor of lsu health shreveport. a lot of them are having struggles in their life and we want to give a little pick up to them because maybe they didn't get to be home with their families for christmas. most of the families spent christmas putting together toys beside hospitals beds... but the visits seemed to be the bright spot of the day. it helps them get through the day in a real positive way so it's a real gift from the players and their manager and their coaches to have them come to lsu. doctor joseph chini says it notst the kidshe excitedbtese vists.ve seen some rents who are ing and ving od me just as much the chilen are.tsid.. theweather may have been frightful... but inside lsu health - there's no doubt the day was delightful. the weather today kind of threw a curve bal into it. you know, we had to practice inside and stuff and it's nice to change it up, chang up the pace and slow it down a little bit and say hi to everybody. in shreveport... erin buchanan... ktbs 3 news the advocare v-100 independence bowl is set to kick off at one p-m... on friday... december 28th. fletch will have much more on the teams' arrivals...
