Independence Bowl Athletes of the Week - 12-26-12
today
for
the
independence
bowl
which
is
only
2
days
away.
ohio
university
was
finally
able
to
hit
the
turf
in
indy
stadium
after
practicing
in
the
convention
center
yesterday.
now
the
bobcats
opened
up
this
year
with
7
straight
wins
but
finished
the
season
on
a
3
game
losing
streak,
while
ulm
ended
on
a
2
game
win
tear
including
an
overtime
victory
to
close
out
the
regular
season.
and
although
their
roads
to
the
independence
bowl
looked
different...
the
strength
of
their
quarterback
play
is
something
these
two
schools
have
in
common
which
is
why
ulm's
kolton
browning
and
ohio's
tyler
tettleton
have
earned
this
week's
jimmy
granger
ford
athlete
of
the
week.
ulm
and
ohio
are
making
their
independence
bowl
appearances
on
the
heels
of
record-
breaking
seasons.
both
school's
success
has
been
driven
by
their
dual-threat
quarterbacks.
ulm's
kolton
browning
and
ohio's
tyler
tettleton
have
re-written
the
recordooks
as
well.
browning
became
ulm's
all
time
touchdown
pass
leader
this
season
with
27.
plus,
the
junior
from
mabank
texas
added
441
yards
on
the
ground
and
7
scores.
after
this
season,
tettleton
is
now
ohio's
all-time
leader
in
career
completions
and
all
time
leading
passer.
the
senior
from
norman
oklahoma
currently
holds
6
of
the
school's
passing
records.
and
both
guys
are
very
impressed
with
one
another.
they
even
have
seen
some
similarities.
you
can
catch
these
two
guys
in
action
with
their
respective
teams
in
the
independence
bowl
on
friday..
only
a
day
a
half
away.
the
dallas
cowboys
brought
practice
indoors
today
at
