the
country.
but
for
t
most
part
..
charter
schools
in
this
region
is
uncharted
territory.
that
is
all
about
to
change.
tonight
education
reporter
eric
james
goes
indepth
as
we
take
a
closer
lok
at
caddo
parish's
newest
school
welcome
to
charter
school
usa...
if
your
haven't
heard
about
the
them...
you
are
about
to...
the
company
...
yes
company...
is
building
caddo
parish's
first
new
public
elementary
school
in
nearly
two
decades..the
magnolia
charter
school
of
excellence.
"having
been
in
many
caddo
public
schools
that
are
much
older
it's
going
to
see
a
new
school,
well
let,
bigger
class
rooms
and
i
really
think
the
children
will
enjoy
having
a
new
facility"
shreveport
education
advocate
ann
stokes
is
on
the
board
overseeing
the
new
school
which
is
being
built
off
of
clyde
fant
parkway.
"we
hired
the
company
they
do
biz
with
ryan
construction.
they
are
using
a
lot
of
local
contractors
to
the
do
the
work.
and
the
model
construction
they
are
using
is
a
tilt
wall..so
they
go
and
once
the
wall
is
up
they
will
just
have
to
work
on
the
inside"
the
sight
was
chosen
because
there
are
three
caddo
parish
schools
within
a
5
miles
radious
of
the
location...serving
a
diverse
population
based
on
race
and
social
economic
status.
the
school
will
be
the
first
charter
school
in
the
area
that
will
work
in
conjuction
with
the
caddo
parish
school
board...
so
while
it
is
owned
by
a
private
company...
it
wil
be
under
the
direction
of
the
caddo
school
board
as
well
as
it's
own
local
board.
"if
you
look
at
our
network
of
schools
we
have
48
schools
in
5
states
and
wveben
operatin
for
over
15
years
and
if
you
look
at
the
data
our
students
out
perform
students
at
traditional
schools"
richard
paige
is
the
vice
president
of
development
for
the
for
profit
company.
it
is
based
out
of
florida.
and
currently
they
are
bulding
13
new
schools
across
the
country.
"we
have
established
an
ability
to
get
better
results
with
our
student
population"
but
not
everyone
is
so
sure
about
this
new
option
for
education.
"
what
i
am
saying
now...is
i'm
not
going
to
encourage
anyone
to
send
their
kid
to
that
charter
school.caddo
parish
is
moving
up.
i
am
going
to
suggest
to
parents
to
stay
with
caddo
parish
"
caddo
parish
school
board
member
dottie
bell
was
against
allowing
another
entity
into
the
district.
"i
want
to
say
the
reason
why
i
voted
against
it
is
they
could
not
present
to
us
anything
that
they
are
going
to
do
that
we
aren't
already
doing"
"
the
most
important
thing
we
have
to
do
is
hire
the
people
who
run
the
school
that
the
most
important
thing
so
we
are
currently
looking
to
hire
the
principal
and
we
have
one
by
the
first
of
march
and
then
hiring
the
teaching
staff"
dr.
phillp
rozman
was
intrustramental
in
convincing
the
majority
of
caddo
school
board
members
to
approve
the
measure
creating
the
charter
school.
he
is
also
on
the
board
for
the
magnolia
charter
school.
"the
unique
part
of
charter
school
u.s.a
is
their
concentration
on
each
students,
individualized
plans
for
each
students,
and
parent
involvement
and
making
an
emotionaly
safe
place
for
kids
to
go"
as
part
of
the
agreement
betwen
the
charter
schols
s.a
-
t
strict
-
and
the
a

thcompany

time
anefrom
the

beforehe

and
right
now...
board
members
we
spoke
with
say
they
really
don't
know
what's
going
on
with
the
school
..and
that
because
the
company
doesn't
have
to
report
anything
until
the
first
student
walks
the
halls
of
the
school.
"things
are
starting
to
happen
know
so
i
expect
that
we
will
probably
have
that
conversation
with
the
board
in
the
not
so
distant
future
but
our
relationship
is
with
the
superintendent
and
would
defer
to
him
on
when
he
wants
to
do
that"
here
in
the
next
few
days
caddo
parish
residents
wil
start
seeing
advertisments
about
the
school.
enrollement
is
open
to
every
caddo

there
is
no
