The iron clad USS Monitor turns 150 years old in 2012 according to NOAA.  This Union war ship battled against the Confederate Navy during the Civil War.  The USS Monitor was the first all iron battleship employed in the days where wooden hulls were the norm.  For more, go to this link:  USS Monitor.
